Hallveig Fróðadóttir, employee of the Horse Breeders Association of Iceland (FHB) and the association’s representative on the Board of Horses of Iceland, has passed away after an heroic battle with cancer.

We, her colleagues, remember her as a unique woman who tended to her duties meticulously and with passion for the Icelandic horse. Hallveig will be deeply missed by her friends and colleagues at FHB. She took a great interest in the Horses of Iceland marketing project and served as FHB’s valued representative on the board.

Hallveig was also responsible for registrations into the WorldFengur online database, the studbook of origin for the Icelandic horse. She solved every issue politely and respectfully towards Icelandic horse owners around the world.

Hallveig was also active in horsemanship herself and bred her own riding horses. She was happiest when she was with her horses.

We offer her family and friends our most heartfelt condolences.

On behalf of FHB,

Sveinn Steinarsson.
