All eyes on the Icelandic horse at Equine Affaire

Equine Affaire was held in West Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, 7^th–10^th November. On the programme were events featuring many different horse breeds, including the Icelandic horse. As part of the evening show Fantasia, Knights of Iceland entered the arena with a stellar performance which kept the audience spellbound. This was particularly pleasing given that the Icelandic horse had not been part of the evening show for the past three years but now the final event was dedicated to it. The Icelandic horse was also promoted with presentations and smaller shows during the day.

Horses of Iceland had a stand at the fair in cooperation with the Northeast Icelandic Horse Club. At the stand, the project’s partners were promoted and videos screened. The 3D glasses were especially popular, as was an Icelandic horse which was kept in a box next to the stand. A great number of attendees stopped by, signed up for the newsletter and participated in a sweepstake to win a trip to Iceland and a four-day highland tour with Riding Iceland.

Approximately 90,000 guests attend Equine Affaire every year.
